Sacramento: City of a beer

Ella sent me a list of cocktail lounges from a Sacramento phone book from 1961 and 1967. Summer, Marletta and I drove around taking pictures of what's there downtown. Eventually, I'll get pictures of the rest. We drove around in a free Fox that Lurch & DeeAnn gave me. The reverse went out that day, so we'd just open the doors and kick backwards. Luckily it was only 90 degrees and the Fox doesn't have air conditioning, so we were fine. Much better than how 1st and 2nd went out when Bill borrowed the free Fox.

I asked my dad for stories about these bars. He delivered sandwiches in the 60s up until the early 80s (me and my sisters grew up on Rels Sandwiches -- hence the name of my older sister's band the Reltones). I'm getting my Old Man to write descriptions of the bars and I'll just hide his name with the old "Dave Smith" con.
